You probably see the shelves being restocked with romaine lettuce again now that we are a few weeks out from the panic that took the nation. We doubt there was much lettuce around people’s dinner tables over Thanksgiving.
Now federal investigators have traced the lettuce with E. coli to the Central Coast regions of California. It does not look like there is any more lettuce from that region on the market right now and harvesting had already stopped there for the year. Now, lettuce is coming from other regions of the state and country.
At the Simpson Law Group, we are thankful nobody was killed during this outbreak, but it did cause over 60 people to become ill. We know that bad foods are just one way in which the things we buy can cause us and our families harm.
Do you know what to do if something you use or consume injures you or makes you ill?
Our knowledgeable and experienced team is ready to help when you need a San Diego product liability attorney.
When we make a purchase, we fully expect the item we buy to be safe to use or consume. After all, there are fairly strict safety regulations for each industry in the US. Unfortunately, there are times when bad products do come to the market.
We often hear about these on the news, like the case of the lettuce E. coli outbreak or when vehicle engines catch fire. Other times, we do not hear a thing. On the government website that tracks recalls, we can see that there are hundreds of defecting products on the market right now.
What can go wrong?
There are three basic ways in which products can cause us harm:
If you or a loved one have been harmed by a product you have purchased, whether it is a hard good, food, medicine, or anything else, you need to seek legal assistance. At the Simpson Law Group, we are ready to step in and take your case all the way to court if needed. We want to make sure you get compensation for your medical expenses, lost income if you miss work, as well as pain and suffering damages for what has happened to you.
