What Does Product Liability Mean?

One way to look at product liability is in regard to how to a manufacturer or seller can be held liable for selling a defective product to a consumer. Product liability can happen in numerous ways. The most common is either a manufacturing defect, where a product on a manufacturing line is not properly put together or there is the design defect. A design defect is when the design, in general, is not correct and can lead to injury of an individual.

One example of a product liability situation is where a product was designed in a way that it could be misinstalled. When an item is not installed properly and someone comes across and slips and falls, then there is product liability. It’s important to get in touch with an attorney because you may have to go up against a big company. And going through that alone is not recommended.
