The evening of January 21 turned out to be tragic on state Route 76 in Vista. At around 6:30 p.m., a 40-year-old man was driving his Chevy pickup truck eastbound when he swerved to avoid hitting a Hyundai Sonata that was stopped for traffic at an intersection.
The crash was severe. The truck smashed into the rear of the Hyundai, which was sent into the back of a Mazda in front of it. Two women inside of the Hyundai were pronounced dead at the scene and a man in the vehicle sustained major injuries.
Police say that they do not think drugs or alcohol were involved.
At the Simpson Law Group, we will be watching this story because we want to know what caused this crash. Why did the man in the Chevy not notice that traffic was stopped in front of him? Was he driving too fast?
